Tip Tuesday: Fresh Perspective

Now that your closet is full of trends from fall 2012, you’re probably wondering what to do with them. You don’t have to say goodbye just yet! We’ve reworked our top three trends we believe are still wearable come spring 2013.

The 1920s flapper trend took off this past year but we expect for it to continue to grow with the release of The Great Gatsby remake come summer. Fur, fringe, beading, oh my! We’ve recreated Rodarte’s look with a white pleated skirt and lace top in a mint color. Another way to not so noticeably wear this trend is with a beaded dress. The beading adds the glam factor while the dress itself is neutral. Accessories are your best friend with this look! Pile on the pearls and costume jewelry to take your look to the next level. Our Clea evening bag is perfect because the three shades of metallic will match any outfit. Plus it comes with an optional chain strap to take this clutch to a shoulder bag based on your preference!

Peplum has shown up everywhere from blouses to skirts to dresses. To mix it up we’ve chosen this Lyst lip printed peplum dress. The lip print is playful and the dress has a small skirted peplum that flatters the body and doesn’t draw attention away from the overall dress. In the second look we played up the peplum with this Sass and Bide skirt. This skirt’s peplum isn’t the traditional peplum we’ve seen over and over again. The black trim on this white skirt adds a certain sophistication to it while the folded peplum adds a fresh take to this trend. We stuck to neutral accessories like our Celia Silver clutch. The shape of this evening bag goes really well with the peplum silhouette.

Baroque is another trend we believe will stick around longer. The prints just need warmer colors to lighten up the look. Going off the printed legging trend, we’ve paired these baroque printed Philipp Plein leggings with a tunic top to bring out the blue coloring. This look is fun and comfortable! We’ve also taken a baroque printed cardigan and paired with a matching pink short to add more of a spring feel! Accessorize with simple pieces like our Silver Eclipse ring.

What 2012 trend will you be revising and rocking in the new year?
